What are roof safety rails?
Roof safety rails are a form of passive fall prevention. They are a metal railing that surrounds the perimeter of the roof work site to minimise the risk of falls to those working at elevated heights. They also reduce the risk of injury and hazard to those working below.
Can I install roof safety rail myself?
We recommend that you use a professional service such as ours for the correct installation of your rail system. Incorrect installation can not only be dangerous, it can also cause safety compliance issues with the Occupational Health and Safety Act.

“The person must minimise the risk of a fall by providing adequate protection against the risk in accordance with this regulation”.
The person provides adequate protection against the risk if the person provides and maintains a safe system of work which includes;
- Providing a fall prevention device if it is reasonably practicable to do so, or
- If it is not reasonably practicable to provide a fall prevention device, providing a work positioning system, or
- If it is not reasonably practicable to comply with either paragraph (a) or (b), providing a fall arrest system, so far as is reasonably practicable.
